This notice sets out how the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (“the Department”) will process your personal data, and your rights. It is made under Articles 13 and/or 14 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
The Department has provided grant funding to Scroll Finance / Sustainable Building Services / Sustainable Energy Services under the Green Home Finance Accelerator programme to develop and pilot Point-of-Sale Technology for Financing Retrofits and Energy Efficiency (POST-FREE), which you have expressed an interest in. This privacy notice sets out what the
Department will do with the personal data it receives from Scroll Finance.
1. Your Data
The Department will process the following personal data:
- Names, home addresses, email addresses of individuals who express an interest and engage with Point-of-Sale Technology for Financing Retrofits and Energy Efficiency (POST-FREE)
2. Purpose
The Department is processing your personal data so that the Department, or an external research consultancy contracted on the Department’s behalf, can invite you to participate in research about your involvement and experience in engaging with Point-of-Sale Technology for Financing Retrofits and Energy Efficiency (POST-FREE).
3. Legal basis of processing
The legal basis for processing your personal data under Article 6 of the UK GDPR is public task. Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller. In this instance, the Department requires consumer contact details to carry out research on activities undertaken with public funding, with the resulting evidence of consumer experience used to inform Government policy.
4. Recipients
Your personal data will be shared by the Department with an external research consultancy that the Department contract to carry out research activities associated with the Green Home Finance Accelerator. As your personal data will be stored on the Department’s IT infrastructure it will also be shared with the Department’s data processors Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.
5. Retention
Your personal data will be kept by the Department for up to 5 years from the date that it is received.
6. International Transfers
Your personal data will be processed in the UK. Your personal data will not be processed in the European Economic Area (EEA), or by an international organisation.
7. Your Rights
- You have the right to request information about how your personal data are processed, and to request a copy of that personal data.
- You have the right to request that any inaccuracies in your personal data are rectified without delay.
- You have the right to request that any incomplete personal data are completed, including by means of a supplementary statement.
- You have the right to request that your personal data are erased if there is no longer a justification for them to be processed.
- You have the right in certain circumstances (for example, where accuracy is contested) to request that the processing of your personal data is restricted.
- You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data where it is processed for direct marketing purposes.
- You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.
